Kindergarten, Here We Come!
Nathan is heading to kindergarten this year, and I am totally fine with it…totallllly fiiiine. And if I keep repeating that to myself maybe it will actually be true.
I thought I was doing pretty good dealing with this whole school thing until I found out that Kindergarten starts in August. Then I nearly hyperventilated. I thought I had until after Labor Day, but it is starting this month, THIS month. Give me a minute while I find a paper bag to breath into.
But at least I know he will be one of the best dressed kids there with these cute striped shirts I made him. It is so much harder to score nice boy fabric, but these stripes were right up my alley. And on top of that they are sweater knits, so they are perfect for the fall. They come from the mystery sweater boxes from Oh Sew Rylee.
I really love this henley and plan on making a few more before the school year starts. The best thing about sewing for Nathan is that he loves everything you make him.
Gosh, when did he get so big! Five years goes by so fast. I can’t believe he’s the same baby who would not.stop.crying…ever. But he’s more than made up for it by being the sweetest, most thoughtful boy I’ve ever met. He genuinely cares about everyone.
I miss the snuggly, chubby little toddler that he was, but I am blown away by the amazing little man that he is turning into.
So off to the big wide world of kindergarten he goes. And I’ll be heading to the store to pick up some tissues, because although I’ll put in a gallant effort, I’m pretty sure the odds are against me. I can barely make it through a coffee commercial without crying.
Here we go!
Beautiful photos.
